As a Lead Cost Controller, you will analyze and manage product costs across the five manufacturing plants within the Nuclear Fuel business segment. You will ensure accurate product cost tracking, variance and trend analysis, and cost optimization to support operational efficiency and profitability including product cost comparisons to improve product optionality. You will also support the LOA costing process and partner with Commercial Finance and operations to lead optimal pricing recommendations. We ask that you collaborate with plant controllers, operations teams, and finance leadership to deliver relevant insights and maintain compliance with corporate standards and an understanding of manufacturing processes and principles. You will report to the Manufacturing Controller and be located at our Cranberry Township, PA headquarters location, or our fuel manufacturing sites in Vasteras, Sweden or Springfields, UK. Hybrid work schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Consolidate and analyze product cost data across five manufacturing plants, identifying trends and variances.
- Prepare cost reports for segment leadership, highlighting risks and opportunities.
- Support development of dashboards and KPIs for cost performance monitoring.
- Help prepare plant-level and consolidated cost budgets and forecasts.
- Monitor adherence to budgets and provide variance explanations with corrective actions.
- Evaluate cost structures across products and plants and recommend strategies for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
- Partner with operations to identify cost drivers and implement process improvements.
- Collaborate with plant controllers and manufacturing leadership to align cost management with operational goals.
- Provide financial insights for decision-making on production planning, procurement, and capital projects.
- Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, cost standards, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred.
- Industrial Engineering background also considered.
- CPA or CMA preferred or country equivalent.
- 5+ years' experience in cost accounting or financial analysis in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with cost accounting principles and manufacturing cost structures.
