As a Head of Operations you will lead and oversee operational activities for Plant Operations, including Fuel Manufacturing, Uranium Recovery, and Site Services. Ensure safe operations and drive strategic initiatives to improve efficiency, safety, and productivity across the Springfields site. You will report directly to the Managing Director and oversee several key roles that report into you. This position is based on-site at the Springfields Fuel Site near Preston.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the plant, including: developing and implementing strategies to improve safety, efficiency and productivity metrics; championing adherence to safety, regulatory and company policies; analyze financial, production, maintenance, quality control, and other operational reports to ensure business objectives are achieved.
  • Champion and promote a culture of continuous improvement through the use of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma principles, Systematic Leadership, and other tools; identify and implement process improvements to improve operations.
  • Plan the strategic manufacturing goals, personnel development, and business objectives; plan and schedule production activities to meet customer requirements; monitor and analyze production metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Deploy staff to balance individual development needs, longer term organisational development goals and to achieve maximum effectiveness for the business.
  • Manage operational budgets; identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
  • Serve in a critical outward-facing role with direct interface to external partners including customers and regulators.

Qualifications

  • 10 plus years\’ experience in manufacturing operations or operations support functions.
  • Bachelor\’s degree is required.
  • Certification in Lean Manufacturing or other process improvement methodologies is preferred.
