As an E & I Craftsperson you will contribute to the day‑to‑day maintenance of site electrical and instrumentation infrastructure and existing nuclear chemical processing facilities, as well as respond to emergent breakdowns and carry out improvement work across the site. You will deliver high‑quality electrical and instrumentation work that meets safety, regulatory, and quality requirements. You will report to the Plant Controller and be located at Springfields Fuel site near Preston.
Key Responsibilities- Manage routine maintenance tasks on site electrical and instrumentation infrastructure.
- Respond to emergent breakdowns to ensure continued operations.
- Test and maintain safety critical systems across Springfields site.
- Complete Initial Verification and Periodic Inspection reports for the inspection, testing and certification of electrical installations.
- Handle and use of Radioactive Sources.
- Portable Appliance Testing of on site portable equipment.
- Review and check Local Engineering Instructions to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with onsite customers to facilitate maintenance tasks in both office and chemical plant environments.
- Feedback into the CMMS (Maximo) for Preventative and Corrective maintenance tasks.
- Contribute to the improvement of a safe environment/general housekeeping of the working area, particularly in their own area of responsibility.
- Active involvement in improvement projects/initiatives.
- Where appropriate, assist in the training and development of others to appropriate standards.
- Comply with all legislative, regulatory and company policy standards and procedures such as safety, quality, risk, security, etc. applicable to the role.
- Qualified to NVQ Level 3 in Electrical and Instrumentation.
- ONC/HNC in relevant engineering discipline.
- Experienced & qualified in BS7671, 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations.
- City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent.
- City & Guilds 2377-22 or equivalent.
- Nuclear industry experience.
