About The Role

As a C,E&I Support Technician you will provide wide ranging technical support to the E&I Services craft team, involving the diagnostics and repair of instrumentation and control systems, discrete electronics, and computer-based control & monitoring systems.

You will report to the Assistant Plant Manager and be located at Springfields.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and training to the E&I Services craft team.
  • Maintain technical documentation for key site CE&I systems.
  • Manage spares availability and contingency plans for key site CE&I systems.
  • Manage obsolescence and development plans for key site CE&I systems.
  • Manage external contract support services for key site CE&I systems.
  • Liaise with system owners to co-ordinate maintenance and any required system outages.
  • Ensure system compliance with legislative, regulatory, and company standards.

Qualifications:

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • Ability to work in high-integrity, safety-critical environments.
  • Minimum BTEC HNC Instrumentation / Electrical / Electronic Engineering or equivalent with 5+ years’ experience (or extensive experience in lieu of HNC).
  • Computer literate, with MS Office applications experience.
  • Experience of industrial instrumentation, including maintenance, calibration, and loop design, including ability to interpret engineering drawings.
  • Experience of programmable plant control systems, including PLC & SCADA.
  • Knowledge of basic discrete electronic circuit design.
  • Knowledge of basic computer networking.
  • Knowledge of design principles for safety related instrumentation.
  • Nuclear industry experience would be beneficial but is not essential.
