As a Maintenance Manager you will lead the maintenance function at our site/facility.

You will ensure that plant, equipment, and facilities are maintained safely, reliably, and efficiently to support operational performance and compliance.

This is leadership role, managing a skilled team and driving continuous improvement in maintenance strategy, asset reliability, and cost control.

You will report to Plant Manager and be located at Springfields Fuel Site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and develop the maintenance team.
  • Develop and implement planned preventative maintenance (PPM) strategies
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
  • Manage maintenance budgets, spares, and external contractors
  • Minimise downtime through effective fault diagnosis and support root cause analysis
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and reliability-focused maintenance practices
  • Support capital projects, equipment upgrades, and commissioning activities
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and KPIs using CMMS systems
  • Health, Safety and Compliance
  • Manage the compliance with the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and all site-specific procedures.
  • Manage the adherence to COSHH regulations when handling insulation materials.
  • Manage working safely in challenging environments including at height, confined spaces, and live industrial sites.
  • Take lead on continuous safety improvements; chair the maintenance safety improvement team meetings.

Qualifications

  • HNC/HND, Degree, or equivalent experience in Engineering or related discipline
  • Relevant professional certifications (e. g. IOSH, NEBOSH, CEng/Eng Tech)
  • Experience with CMMS and asset management systems

Skills

  • Proven experience in a Maintenance Manager or senior maintenance leadership
  • Strong technical background in mechanical and electrical engineering
  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or utilities
  • Demonstrated people management and leadership skills
  • Strong understanding of health & safety and statutory compliance
  • Ability to plan strategically
