As the Environmental Engineer you will provide day-to-day environmental support to manufacturing, maintenance and operational teams across the Springfields site.

You will focus on ensuring compliance with permit requirements, supporting operational activities, identifying environmental risks and implementing practical solutions that maintain environmental performance.

You will spend significant time within operational areas working directly alongside plant teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Support
  • Provide environmental support to operational and maintenance teams.
  • Participate in plant walkdowns and inspections.
  • Identify environmental risks and support corrective actions.
  • Support operational teams in implementing environmental controls.
  • Compliance & Monitoring
  • Assist with environmental reporting and permit compliance activities.
  • Monitor compliance with permit conditions and environmental standards.
  • Support environmental inspections and audits. Waste & Resource Management
  • Support management of radioactive and conventional waste streams.
  • Assist with waste minimisation initiatives.
  • Support compliance with waste management requirements. Incident Investigation
  • Investigate environmental events and near misses.
  • Facilitate root cause analysis.
  • Develop and track corrective actions.
  • Share learning from events.
  • Support implementation of environmental improvements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve environmental performance.
  • Assist with development and implementation of environmental procedures.

Qualifications

  • Experience within manufacturing, engineering, chemical, energy or nuclear sectors.
  • Strong operational awareness.
  • Experience supporting environmental compliance activities.
  • Investigation and problem-solving skills.
  • ISO 14001 experience.
  • Waste management knowledge.
