As the ELA (Europe, Latin America and Asia) OMS QEHS Director you will have full responsibility and organizational leadership of the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) and Quality functions for the ELA OMS organization. The QEHS Director will collaborate with the Americas OMS EHS director, the global OMS Quality team and Global Operations Services leading a multi-country team in the range of 50 employees. The role will report to the Senior Vice President, OMS QEHS and can be based in any European location where we have operations (Spain, France, Belgium, UK, Germany and Sweden). Hybrid work schedule.
Main Responsibilities
- EHS
- Implement EHS Programs for ELA OMS.
- Establish a governance structure to ensure the inclusion of all important partners implementation of programs / changes considering product differences, geographical differences, and performance needs / expectations.
- Oversee ELA OMS EHS systems, programs, and policies that are compliant with applicable local, regional, national EHS regulations and standards.
- Align with Westinghouse's EHS Management Systems.
- Promote excellence in the organizations' performance in Environmental, and Health and Safety.
- Provide leadership for EHS change plans aimed at driving a safety culture which enables business growth.
- Develop measurement and reporting of EHS performance metrics to deliver tangible results for ELA OMS.
- Evaluate trends for continuous improvement and corrective measures and measuring process effectiveness with both leading and lagging indicators.
- Ensure resources for Environmental, Health, and Safety compliance along with Sustainability expectations globally.
- Develop and support OMS EHS strategic vision, partner with Corporate and Business Unit EHS leaders to develop Westinghouse's EHS strategic vision and perform OMS EHS management reviews.
- Maintain overall budget responsibility for all responsibilities ensuring process effectiveness and adherence to all applicable laws and regulations.
- Coordinate needs, such as customer requests, supplier EHS, contractor EHS, mergers and acquisitions, LOA's.
- Lead development of EHS integration plans for BU acquisitions and monitor execution of the plan to ensure integration that minimizes risk to the BU and Westinghouse.
- Communicate and facilitate finding ELA OMS support for Westinghouse EHS internal audits.
- Manage implementation of Westinghouse quality policies in compliance with local customer requirements, codes and standards.
- Manage team of QA staff to support Westinghouse's Quality Assurance Program, manage Qualified Supplier List (QSL), and lead continuous improvement plans.
- Ensure understanding of all European, Latin America and Asia quality requirements, as applicable, and understanding of Westinghouse's procedures.
- Monitor and implement changes to Westinghouse global QMS.
- Promote a culture of compliance and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure quality program changes are communicated and implemented throughout Business Unit and Global Operations Services.
- Interface on quality matters with the customers and the regulatory authority having jurisdiction.
- Communicate with all disciplines on quality matters (Engineering, Procurement, Production, Sales, EHS / HU).
- Oversee internal and external audits, project audits, management assessments.
- Lead corrective action program for ELA OMS.
- Resolve solutions to quality problems and implement quality assurance best practices through continuous improvement.
- Develop quality indoctrination training and other education programs.
- Develop department budget and control expenditures to remain within budget.
- Ensure staff are trained and manage employee performance to achieve department goals.
- Compile quality performance data for annual management review.
Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor's degree (technical discipline).
- MBA or Master's degree desirable.
- 15+ years experience, including EH&S programs and quality program administration.
- 5+ years experience in nuclear quality management.
- ISO 14001 and / or 45001 knowledge and working experience.
- English and any other European language required.
- Demonstrated strong communication skills.
- Travel required Minimum 25%. Global Travel required.
