As a Mechanical Engineer (Pressure Systems), you will provide specialist technical support and advice, including design assessment and examination of pressurized and hazardous content systems at the Springfields Fuel site. This is a site-based role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide independent design verification for new, in-service, and repaired equipment within categories such as pressure vessels, bulk hazardous content equipment, piping systems, and mechanical safety accessories.
- Create and amend Written Schemes of Examination for pressure and hazardous content systems.
- Approve quality plans and concessions related to manufacturing and repair of equipment.
- Lead technical reviews related to changes in Schemes of Examination.
- Provide technical guidance across the organization on relevant categories.
- Organize and plan contractor inspection resources.
Qualifications:
- Graduate Mechanical Engineer or equivalent, working towards registration, with relevant pressure/hazardous content systems experience.
- Experience with pressure system inspections following PSSRs.
- Ability to interpret national and international codes and standards for pressure vessels and piping systems.
- Incorporated Engineer status or working towards professional registration.
- Thorough understanding of Pressure Systems Safety Regulations and Pressure Equipment (Safety) Regulations.
- Good understanding of NDT techniques.
