Responsibilities include frontline engineering services and overseeing an assigned group of assets to ensure that the maintenance and operation of the systems are performed and managed safely, meeting legal obligations and business requirements efficiently and effectively. Prepare, deliver and manage Plant Modification Proposals (PMPs), following the recognized formal process for the plant/facility, and manage the project from start-up to installation. Proactively identify plant problems (especially recurring issues) and coordinate appropriate corrective maintenance actions. Comply with appropriate regulations, standards and policies and carry responsibility for safety, cost and quality standards. Monitor and evaluate plant performance through observation, review of work logs and histories, and then recommend and implement improvements. Carry out regular walk downs to maintain awareness of current condition, performance and environmental impacts. Work in partnership with Operations, Maintenance and Engineering Reliability colleagues to drive improvements in work delivery and plant availability/reliability. Identify issues with systems and components, engaging with specialists to initiate appropriate corrective actions to achieve short and long-term resolution.
Qualifications: As a Commissioning Engineer, you should have an engineering background; an apprenticeship timeserved is essential with a formal degree award or equivalent relevant experience. Experience in the nuclear industry is desirable. Minimum five years of experience in a similar position. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent maths and literacy skills. Excellent IT skills. Desire to engage and grow your contacts within the industry. Ability to obtain security clearance as required by projects.
