The Job

To carry out high-quality floor laying installations, replacements, and repairs within commercial premises, restaurant and pub chains, nursing homes, nurseries etc. The successful candidate must be highly proficient in safety flooring, cove former flooring, ensuring all works meet regulatory compliance, accessibility standards, and high-quality finishes for commercial occupants.

Responsibilities:

  • Specialist Flooring Cut and Installation: Install a wide range of commercial flooring, with a heavy focus on vinyl, safety flooring (Altro, Polyflor, etc.)
  • Cove Former Flooring: Expertly install cove formers and capping strips to create seamless, hygienic, and watertight floor-to-wall transitions
  • Responsive Repairs & Voids: Carry out patch repairs or full floor replacements
  • Customer Care: Deliver excellent customer service, respecting residents' homes, minimizing disruption, and communicating clearly regarding work progress and drying times.
  • Health & Safety: Maintain a clean and safe working environment, ensuring strict adherence to COSHH regulations (adhesives, primers) and correct use of PPE.

Requirements:

  • Proven Experience: Demonstrable history as a professional Floor Layer, specifically within commercial environments.
  • Technical Expertise: Advanced proficiency in cutting and laying safety vinyl, with specific, hands-on experience in cut and cove forming and capping.
  • Driving License: Full UK Driving License (a company vehicle is typically provided). Experience with Altro flooring a distinct advantage.
