Junior Estimator/Carpenter - Commercial Refurbishment

Salary: £32,000-£41,000 + benefits

Location: Working across the South East and London

Contracted Hours Permanent – Full Time

About the Role

Westin Par is working in partnership with a well-established maintenance services company providing reactive day to day building maintenance, planned preventative and cyclical maintenance to commercial organisations to include Pubs, Restaurants, Schools Nurseries etc

Based from Dartford, this is an excellent opportunity for someone with early estimating experience to develop their career within a supportive environment. You will work alongside experienced estimators, assisting in the preparation and management of costings across a variety of commercial refurbishment projects.

Projects typically include strip-out, refurbishment, and fit-out works across sectors such as hospitality, education, and housing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and coordination of cost submissions
  • Set up and manage project tender folders and maintain bid tracking systems
  • Review tender documentation to ensure all required information is received
  • Attend site visits to support the tendering process
  • Identify missing information and raise queries with clients or consultants
  • Carry out accurate quantity take-offs with a strong attention to detail
  • Support the enquiry process for subcontractors and suppliers
  • Track and manage incoming quotations and responses
  • Ensure deadlines are met and documentation is kept up to date

Requirements

  • Previous experience within an estimating role with a refurbishment bias (minimum 1 year preferred)
  • Around 3 years’ experience within main contracting or the wider construction industry
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with high attention to detail
  • Good IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel and Office packages
  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities
  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs (Grade 5 or above), including Maths and English, or equivalent qualification
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to attend site visits
