Westholme School is seeking a passionate and dedicated KS1 Class Teacher to join our Primary team.
Position Details
- Hours: 1.0 FTE
- Contract: Fixed Term Maternity Cover – ending 24 March 2027
- Starting Date: September 2026
- Closing Date: Friday 8 May 2026 at 9am
Responsibilities
- Deliver high‑quality teaching and learning experiences to children aged 5‑7.
- Create a supportive and stimulating classroom environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and confidence.
- Plan engaging lessons tailored to individual pupil needs.
- Apply effective assessment strategies and monitor pupil progress.
- Foster an inclusive classroom where every child feels valued and supported.

Qualifications and Skills
- Qualified teacher status or equivalent qualification suitable for primary education.
- Strong understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum requirements.
- Excellent communication skills with both children and adults.
- Ability to plan engaging lessons tailored to individual pupil needs.
- Basic knowledge of assessment strategies within primary education.
- Willingness to teach the full range of primary subjects and to work with any Key Stage 1 year group.
- Excellent track record and flexibility, experience and confidence to teach any year groups throughout Key Stage.
