Westhill House Nursery are looking for a new Childcare Apprentice. You will be studying toward your Early Years Educator Apprenticeship Level 3.

We provide care with education for children up to the age of five years. Based in Kings Norton, Birmingham we were first established in 2009, maintaining good and outstanding outcomes by Ofsted proudly for 17 years. We place our children, their families, the team and the community at the centre of our practice and aspirations. At Westhill House we meet the holistic needs of each individual child in our care by fostering strong emotional connections, giving children a sense of safety and security and building on their belief that they are capable of anything!

As an Early Years Apprentice, you'll work alongside experienced practitioners to support the learning, development and wellbeing of children aged 0-5 years. You'll gain valuable hands-on experience while working towards a nationally recognised qualification, developing the skills and confidence needed for a successful career in the early years sector. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys being active, has a positive attitude, and is passionate about helping children learn, grow and reach their full potential. You'll receive ongoing training, support and mentoring from an experienced nursery team throughout your apprenticeship.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Support children's learning and development through play-based activities and planned experiences
  • Help create a safe, caring and stimulating environment for children aged 0-5 years
  • Assist with daily routines, including mealtimes, personal care, sleep routines and outdoor play
  • Build positive and professional relationships with children, parents, carers and colleagues
  • Observe children's progress and assist with recording observations in line with the EYFS framework
  • Support children's emotional, social and physical development through engaging activities
  • Prepare and maintain a clean, safe and organised learning environment
  • Follow safeguarding, health and safety, equality and nursery policies and procedures at all times
  • Work as part of the nursery team while completing apprenticeship training and coursework

Training Outcome:

There is a possibility of being offered a full-time role after successful completion of the apprenticeship.
