We are delighted to invite applications for a substantive part-time (4PA) Consultant Neurologist post with an interest in general neurology and epilepsy at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. The successful candidate will join a dynamic, supportive, and highly collaborative neurology team, working at Watford General Hospital, with clinical sessions at Hemel Hempstead General Hospital and/or St Albans City Hospital. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a high-quality general neurology service while developing and delivering specialist epilepsy care.
The post-holder will participate in outpatient clinics, acute inpatient neurology liaison, and advice and guidance services, with flexibility to shape subspecialty epilepsy services in line with experience and service needs. The post is offered on a substantive, part-time basis, (4PA) with programmed activities to be agreed in line with service requirements.
Main duties of the job:- Deliver high-quality general neurology and epilepsy outpatient services across Trust sites.
- Provide specialist epilepsy clinics and contribute to the development of epilepsy pathways and services.
- Support acute inpatient neurology referrals at Watford General Hospital.
- Participate in advice and guidance services and clinical governance activities, including audit, risk management, teaching, and CPD.
- Contribute to departmental activities, including neuroradiology MDT meetings and service development.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, effective, and patient-centred care.
