An experienced and enthusiastic Paediatric Dietitian with a specialist interest in diabetes is needed to join our supportive Paediatric Dietetic team at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. The team includes three Paediatric Dietitians within a broader department of 17 dietitians covering neonates, cystic fibrosis, allergy and gastroenterology. The role offers the chance to develop expertise and deliver care within inpatient and outpatient services at Watford General Hospital, with clinics in Hemel Hempstead and Watford.
Main duties of the job:
- Lead and develop the Paediatric Diabetes service within a multidisciplinary team.

Person specification:
Education and qualifications:
- Degree in Nutrition & Dietetics or equivalent.
- HCPC Registered.
- Member of the British Dietetic Association (BDA).
- Post‑graduate study in a specialist area of dietetics (e.g., paediatric course).
Knowledge:
- Expertise in managing children with diabetes, including neonatal units, cystic fibrosis, cardiac babies, gastroenterology, and food allergies.
Experience:
- Post‑registration clinical experience.
- Experience in paediatrics with up‑to‑date knowledge of all aspects of paediatrics management of children with diabetes.
- Extensive clinical experience working with children with diabetes and their families/carers.
- Involvement in relevant specialist interest groups (e.g., paediatric group).
