We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate midwife for the role of Band 7 Antenatal Clinic and Maternity Day Assessment Unit Ward Manager. This is a key leadership role where you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Antenatal Clinic and Maternity Day Assessment Unit, ensuring the highest standards of care and support for women in the antenatal period. Your clinical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to excellence will be essential in driving safe, high-quality care, while supporting and developing your team.

Main duties of the job:

  • Provide visible, approachable, and supportive leadership ensuring both staff and service users feel confident and cared for.
  • Take overall responsibility for the management and coordination of the Antenatal Clinics, promoting a positive and efficient working environment.
  • Support, supervise, and develop junior staff and students, encouraging professional growth and clinical excellence.
  • Champion a compassionate and collaborative culture, building strong multidisciplinary relationships and prioritising patient‑centred care.

Person specification:

  • Education: Registered Midwife with UK NMC Pin. Evidence of post‑registration education. Recognised Leadership and management qualification.
  • Knowledge: Sound theoretical and practical knowledge of the role of the Midwife. Up to date knowledge of safeguarding children’s practices.
  • Experience: Recent experience encompassing a wide range of Midwifery Practice. Demonstrated leadership in antenatal care.
