We are looking for an outstanding Senior Physiotherapist with a passion for improving patient outcomes at the West Hertfordshire Therapy Unit, Jacketts Field Site, Abbots Langley. The ideal candidate will have experience in pre and post prosthetic amputee rehabilitation and enthusiasm for developing the service in line with national clinical best practice guidance. The post holder will also contribute to the delivery of the musculoskeletal outpatient service for trauma and elective orthopaedic consultant referrals.

Main duties of the job:

  • Applicants must demonstrate sufficient working experience in the NHS to assume a Band 7 role.
  • You will lead service development projects and audits to enhance care and ensure compliance with relevant standards and guidelines.
  • Clinical supervision, appraisal and teaching will be key components of your role.

Person specification:

Education and qualifications:

  • Physiotherapy degree qualification.
  • Full Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration.
  • Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy or equivalent.
  • Documented evidence of Continuing Professional Development of expanded skills in area of specialism.
  • Attained or working towards a Post Graduate Degree or Qualification.
  • Evidence of leadership courses / training.

Knowledge:

  • Understanding of organisational structure of the NHS and Social Care.
  • Ability to provide professional/clinical leadership in area of specialism.
  • Understanding of relevant clinical guidelines / policies and procedures.
  • Evidence of service development / QI projects / audits.
  • Understanding of clinical governance and its implications for the service.
  • Membership of specialist interest groups, such as BACPAR etc.

Experience:

  • Band 6/Band 7 (senior) experience (or equivalent) in area of specialism, and in the NHS.
  • Attendance at post graduate courses in the relevant field (specific to the post).
  • Attendance at a Clinical Educators course.
  • Experience leading Service Development / QI initiatives.
