Responsibilities:

  • Registered nurse to take charge of shift. Must have a valid UK NMC PIN.
  • Oversee care workers by supervising care of residents.
  • Dispense and record medication administration.
  • Maintain records and other relevant documentation.
  • Give nursing care as required, in accordance with clinical governance requirements and guidance and standards laid down by the NMC.
  • Observe confidentiality at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with other health workers and professional colleagues to ensure continuity of care.
  • Be familiar with the Home’s policies and procedures, particularly those relating to nursing and care issues.
  • Perform duties in accordance with National Minimum Standards, Health and Safety and other relevant legislation.
  • Work as an effective team member and attend staff meetings and training as required.
  • Maintain Revalidation folder and ensure that practice is kept up to date.
  • Contribute to the training and development of staff as appropriate.
  • Perform, as required, any duties that contribute to the effective running of the Home.
