We are seeking a passionate GP to work in our well-established practice in the lovely seaside town of Westgate-on-Sea. The vacancy is available due to a retiring partner, and we would be looking for the role to commence as soon as possible. About Us
Westgate Surgery is a well-respected, single-site practice situated in the picturesque Westgate-on-Sea, Kent. With a patient population of 10,200, our dedicated team includes four GP partners, one salaried GP, two advanced nurse practitioners, a committed group of practice nurses, healthcare assistants, a care coordinator, a GP assistant and a social prescriber. We also proudly offer audiology and physiotherapy services, enhancing the spectrum of care we provide to our patients.
The Surgery
- Access to a dedicated home visiting service, allowing you to focus on patient care with minimal home visits
- Direct access to First Contact Physiotherapist (FCP) appointments for streamlined patient care
- A supportive Care Enhancement team to assist patients in their homes

Main duties of the job
- Working as an autonomous practitioner you will be responsible for the provision of medical services to your personal list of patients.
- You will deliver an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the GMS contract, participate in enhanced services and the achievement of QoF targets.
- You will participate in covering the duty doctor session on a rotational basis, which includes a 6.30pm finish.
- You will offer generic prescribing, adhering to local and national guidance.
- Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance.
- Work collaboratively with practice team and wider PCN team.
- Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process.
- Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as required.
- Ensure compliance with the appraisal process.
- Provide reports for employers, solicitors and insurance companies and complete medical certificates, benefit agency forms etc.
- Ensure that all work carried out which carries a private fee is properly recouped and accounted for.
- Prepare and complete the revalidation process.
- Commit to self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice team.
- Support the training of medical students from all clinical disciplines.
- Support the partners in achieving the strategic aims of the practice.
- Review and always adhere to practice protocols and policies.

Job responsibilities
To work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the GMS contract. Furthermore, the post holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading by example, maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.
