An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and passionate Unit Manager (Registered Nurse) to join the leadership team at St Paul’s Care Centre. This is a rewarding role for a strong clinical leader who thrives in a hands-on environment and is committed to delivering outstanding, person-centred care.
Working closely with the Home Manager and Deputy Manager, you will have full responsibility for the day-to-day management of your unit, ensuring the highest standards of clinical practice, governance and resident wellbeing. You will be expected to work within the defined company policies and procedures and to adhere to CQC guidelines and other relevant legislative requirements at all times.
About the role:
- Comply with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct at all times
- Lead and inspire your team of care professionals to deliver high standards of care and add value to the lives of our residents
- Take responsibility and ownership for nursing and care practices on the unit, ensuring that person centred care for the residents is the focus
- Be the lead for your unit to ensure that the oversight for clinical governance is monitored and that this is reported on to the Home Manager as required
- Support with audits across the home, analyse quality of care outcomes and make recommendations to further improve the care standards
- Maintain clinical involvement and provide hands on care to our residents including the administration of medication and wound care
- Liaise with external healthcare professionals as needed, such as Social Services and CCG representatives
- Assist the Home Manager in filling resident vacancies on your unit by liaising with stakeholders and by assessing and selecting suitable residents according to their care needs
About you:
- Registered General Nurse (RGN) qualification
- Current and valid NMC PIN
- Strong clinical knowledge and leadership experience
- A clear understanding of CQC, safeguarding and H&S legislation
- Excellent communication, organisation and people management skills
- A positive, flexible and innovative approach to care delivery
