Job Description
Responsibilities and accountabilities for the role include
- Underwriting individual risks at the Lloyd’s box.
- Managing coverholder relationships through regular dialogue.
- Keeping abreast of legal changes in key territories and their impact on the portfolio.
- Traveling to see coverholders, clients and brokers in key territories.
- Managing market dynamics through the market cycle.
- Developing pipeline and opportunities with key brokers.
- Managing internal stakeholders.
- Working within the agreed Underwriting Authority and Westfield Specialty International Underwriting framework.
- Deputising for the Head of International Liability where required.
- Cross‑selling with other lines of business (particularly Property / Fin Pro).
- Co‑working with colleagues to train and develop junior team members.
Skills & Competencies
- Proven experience underwriting GL risks in the Lloyd’s or international insurance market.
- Strong technical knowledge of GL related risk.
- Understanding of market cycles, broker dynamics, and regulatory environment within Lloyd’s and global insurance markets.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 5 years of underwriting experience in General Liability Insurance.
- ACII qualification (or working towards completion).
