Responsibilities and accountabilities for the role include:

  • Underwriting individual risks at the Lloyd’s box.
  • Managing coverholder relationships through regular dialogue.
  • Keeping abreast of legal changes in key territories and their impact on the portfolio.
  • Traveling to see coverholders, clients and brokers in key territories.
  • Managing market dynamics through the market cycle.
  • Developing pipeline and opportunities with key brokers.
  • Managing internal stakeholders.
  • Working within the agreed Underwriting Authority and Westfield Specialty International Underwriting framework.
  • Deputising for the Head of International Liability where required.
  • Cross‑selling with other lines of business (particularly Property / FinPro).
  • Co‑working with colleagues to train and develop junior team members.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Proven experience underwriting GL risks in the Lloyd’s or international insurance market.
  • Strong technical knowledge of GL related risk.
  • Understanding of market cycles, broker dynamics, and regulatory environment within Lloyd’s and global insurance markets.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of underwriting experience in General Liability Insurance.
  • ACII qualification (or working towards completion).
