We have an exciting opportunity to lead something from the very beginning. Westfield Primary School is looking for an inspirational and experienced Lead Teacher – Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) Unit to lead our new 12-place SEMH provision, The Nest.

We are looking for an educator who is passionate about children who have experienced barriers to learning and who understands that, for some children, relationships, regulation, belonging and feeling safe must come before learning can truly happen.

  • Establish and shape the ethos, culture and practice of a brand-new SEMH provision
  • Lead a dedicated team and develop high-quality provision from the ground up
  • Deliver an ambitious, personalised curriculum that enables children to thrive
  • Champion trauma-informed, relational and inclusive approaches
  • Work closely with families, the SENCo and a range of external professionals
  • Develop practice that has an impact beyond the SEMH unit and across the wider school
  • Make a genuine difference to children whose educational journeys have not always been straightforward

We are looking for someone who combines excellent teaching with strong leadership, who is reflective, nurturing, resilient and ambitious for every child. Most importantly, we want someone who believes that behaviour is communication, relationships matter and every child deserves to experience success.

If you are an experienced teacher or SEND/SEMH practitioner looking for an opportunity to build, lead and make a lasting difference, we would love to hear from you.
