Key Accountabilities & Role Requirements:

  • Underwriting individual risks
  • Underwrite at the Lloyd’s box
  • Manage coverholder relationships through regular dialogue
  • Keep abreast of legal changes in key territories and their impact on our portfolio
  • Travel to see coverholders, clients and brokers in key territories
  • Managing market dynamics through the market cycle
  • Pipeline and development of opportunities with key brokers
  • Managing internal stakeholders
  • Work within agreed Underwriting Authority and Westfield Specialty International Underwriting framework
  • Deputise for the Head of International Liability where required
  • Cross sell with other lines of business (particularly Property / FinPro)
  • Working with colleagues to train and develop more junior colleagues

Skills & Competencies Required:

  • Proven experience underwriting GL risks in the Lloyd’s or international insurance market.
  • Strong technical knowledge of GL related risk.
  • Understanding of market cycles, broker dynamics, and regulatory environment within Lloyd’s and global insurance markets.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of underwriting experience in General Liability Insurance.
  • ACII qualification (or working towards completion)
