About the role
The Performance Coach will provide expert support to local senior management in managing the day-to-day operations of the onsite fitness spaces with a key globally renowned client; including but not limited to the delivery of onsite and virtual classes, personal training, gym inductions, fitness programming & space operations. The Performance Coach will be required to demonstrate the desired skills, behaviours & agile mindset to create & deliver effective programs both in person & digitally across a multitude of disciplines. This role will also work closely with other departments & local leadership to provide support in the delivery of the internal wellbeing strategy for Westfield Health. The successful candidate will be a world class practitioner & communicator; who is able to work seamlessly within a high performing team, and individually to consistently deliver in line with client objectives.
Your responsibilities
- Delivering high calibre coaching practice across our program, including 1-1, small group & group sessions at all ability levels; across coaching services & outreach programs.
- Designing carefully constructed exercise programs for users of varying ability and goals with an emphasis on quality movement, careful instruction, and safe results.
- You lead by example in assisting with digital and onsite opportunities for connection.
- You actively take responsibility to help promote and participate in community events designed for maximum participation, and track engagement accordingly.
- Responsibility for conducting regular H&S checks on spaces & inventory through monitoring processes alongside local senior management; in line with client needs & expectations. This includes regular equipment & supplies checks, maintaining exceptional space cleanliness & aligning with 7 star hospitality standards.
- As part of existing service frameworks, conduct orientations & consultations to remain connected with client user base outside of traditional coaching & to maximise engagement across our offerings.
- Reporting required metrics to monitor the utilisation and performance of the Active Spaces; and wellbeing initiatives, including but not limited to attendance, engagement, outreach efforts, and activity level.
- Play a key part in the delivery, creation and improvement of our wellbeing initiatives; partnering with local Senior Leadership & wider teams on the creation & delivery of world class health & wellbeing activations.
- Be solutions oriented! As a key client facing practitioner, you will be responsible for removing barriers and reducing friction for individuals to engage in our programs.

What you’ll bring
- Level 3 Personal training Qualification (CIMSPA recognised)
- BSc in Sports Science, Strength & Conditioning or equivalent would be ideal
- MSc Strength & Conditioning, Sports Science or equivalent would be beneficial
- Additional industry standard certifications with globally recognised bodies. Examples included but are not limited to NASM, NSCA, ASCA & UKSCA.
- Expertise in group class delivery, small group training & 1-1 personal training within a high stakes, high performing corporate environment.
- A proven track record of successfully working independently to establish training needs, develop interventions to meet these needs, and deliver high-quality health and wellbeing solutions and interventions as a result.
- Proven experience of developing effective working relationships and influencing internal employees.
- A minimum of two years of personal training / coaching experience within a corporate environment is desirable.
- First class interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels & with multiple stakeholders. This includes both in verbal & written formats.
- Excellent IT literacy, including Chrome OS, Microsoft Office Suite or related products.
- A self–starter with strong planning, project coordination and organising abilities.
- The ability to engage, influence and coach others across the business to achieve buy in and engagement to support delivery of the wellbeing strategy.
- A passion and ethos for helping others with their health and wellbeing.
- Strong collaborator, who excels in team environments, alongside being a motivated self starter.
- Excellent organisational skills, & having the ability to be both proactive & reactive to evolving.
