About the role

The Fitness Coach delivers safe, engaging and inclusive fitness and movement sessions at our client sites. Working closely with operational and wellbeing colleagues, this role involves group class delivery, short 1:1 inductions and training and light administration to encourage participation, support memberships and enhance participant experience. The postholder will be expected to uphold our health, safety and safeguarding standards and contribute to a positive, supportive environment for all participants.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare and deliver motivating group exercise sessions and short 1:1 coaching suitable for a range of abilities and health needs; adapt activities to ensure sessions are inclusive.
  • Conduct membership inductions and basic fitness assessments in line with company guidance, recording outcomes accurately and following up where appropriate.
  • Set up equipment safely; carry out routine equipment checks and report any issues promptly.
  • Encourage participation and progression, using engagement techniques to support retention and a positive member experience.
  • Maintain and promote health, safety and safeguarding standards; report incidents, complete required documentation and support investigations where necessary.
  • Act as an ambassador for UK Health and Wellbeing and the Group, promoting relevant programmes, offers and wellbeing initiatives to clients and participants.
  • Complete basic administrative tasks including session registers, participant feedback and simple reports to support service delivery.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, clients and partners to support continuous improvement and successful contract delivery.

What we’re looking for

  • Recognised fitness qualifications (for example Level 2/3, REPs or equivalent) and current first aid qualification or willingness to obtain one if required.
  • Experience delivering group sessions and short 1:1 coaching; experience in corporate settings is desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to motivate and engage diverse participants and build rapport quickly.
  • Reliable, well organised and able to work independently across multiple locations, managing time and priorities effectively.
  • Demonstrable commitment to health and safety and safeguarding best practice, with the ability to respond to incidents professionally.
  • Flexible approach to working hours, including early mornings, evenings and occasional weekends.
  • Valid driving licence and willingness to travel between client sites may be required for some roles.
