We have new opportunities for Quality Assurance Operatives to join our team in Birds Drove, Lincolnshire on a permanent basis to cover the day shift (7am-7pm). As Quality Assurance Operative, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our products meet and exceed expectations for our customers. You'll have responsibility for a variety of tasks, including:

  • Conduct quality checks at multiple sites, assess against customer standards, and address any issues to guarantee consistently high-quality fruit.
  • Accurately record quality data, manage shelf-life assessments, and ensure adherence to packhouse procedures to maintain quality assurance processes.
  • Assist in training staff on product grading standards to contribute towards team knowledge.
  • Perform equipment calibrations and manage label compliance to ensure accurate processes and support operational efficiency.
  • Conduct hygiene and food safety audits within the production facility to promote a safe and hygienic environment at all times.
  • Liaise with the technical team and collaborate to provide detailed final product assessment reports on quality issues.
  • Manage product sampling requests efficiently.
  • Attend daily QA briefings and actively identify opportunities to reduce waste, increase efficiency and participate in quality improvement.
  • Assist with customer feedback by supporting investigations into rejections and complaints.
  • Help identify information for traceability audits and monitor store temperatures.
  • Identify and resolve contamination, foreign body, and labelling issues, ensuring proper recording and escalation of quality and safety concerns.
  • Participate in project trials to identify more efficient working methods that contribute towards future improvements.
  • Uphold health and safety standards by taking responsibility for your safety and the safety of others, adhering to company policies and reporting any issues.
  • Ensure the highest food safety and hygiene standards are met, reporting any concerns and contributing to a positive food safety culture.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Ability to commit to the day shift pattern above (2 on, 2 off, 3 on shift basis).
  • Previous experience in a QA role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with colleagues across various departments.
  • A keen eye for detail with a diligent approach to thinking.
  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience within a similar role in an FMCG environment would be advantageous.
