We're looking for a Materials Coordinator to join our team in, Spalding Lincolnshire
The Packaging Co-ordinator / Master Data Controller provides the operational control and data integrity required between materials planning and physical intake.
The role owns routine reconciliations, packaging master data, BOM accuracy, variance investigation and audit evidence, ensuring that physical packaging and tray movements are accurately reflected in company systems.
Working in support of the Packaging Materials Planner, the role protects production continuity, reduces adjustments and write-offs, and strengthens compliance.
The Materials Planner retains accountability for forward planning, supplier requirements and overall materials availability.
Responsibilities include
- Complete accurate packaging, tray and returnable-equipment reconciliations, investigating and resolving stock discrepancies promptly.
- Monitor packaging stock integrity and availability, proactively identifying shortages, unrecorded movements and potential risks to production.
- Support stock counts and period-end controls, ensuring all adjustments are appropriately evidenced, authorised and accurately recorded.
- Create, maintain and validate packaging master data and Bills of Materials (BOMs), ensuring system information remains accurate and aligned with approved specifications.
- Coordinate master data and BOM changes, completing regular data-quality checks and resolving inaccurate, duplicate or obsolete records.
- Investigate packaging and tray variances, identifying root causes and coordinating corrective actions to prevent recurrence and minimise loss.
- Analyse stock adjustments, usage and write-off trends to identify control issues, risks and opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Maintain accurate control records, processes and audit trails, supporting internal, customer and external audit requirements.
- Work closely with Packaging Intake, Planning, Production, Technical, Finance and Systems teams to resolve issues and maintain smooth factory operations.
- Provide operational support and cover for critical packaging-control activities, helping to ensure continuity, accuracy and packaging availability during peak periods, absence and project activity.

Requirements
- Previous experience in packaging, inventory control, supply chain, manufacturing, master data or a similar operational environment.
- Good understanding of stock reconciliation, variance investigation and inventory accuracy.
- Experience maintaining ERP master data and/or Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Strong numerical and analytical skills, with confidence using Excel or similar tools.
- Ability to analyse data, identify root causes and drive corrective actions through to completion.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple operational functions.
- A proactive, accurate and detail-focused approach, with the confidence to identify and resolve risks early.
- A continuous improvement mindset, identifying opportunities to strengthen controls, improve processes and reduce operational risk.
Desirable
- D365 experience would be advantageous.
- Experience supporting audits or working within a controlled FMCG, food-manufacturing or regulated environment is desirable.
