We’re looking for an experienced Management Accountant to join our UK finance team on a permanent basis in Kings Hill, Kent.
As a Management Accountant at Westfalia Fruit, you will support core financial operations including P&L reviews, balance sheet reconciliations, budgeting, and audit preparation. You\’ll also be involved in IFRS 16 reporting, intercompany reconciliations, and cross-functional collaboration on cost controls and stock management. The role also authorises payments, approves rebates, and contributes to the rollout of a new finance ERP system (MS D365).
Responsibilities Include
- Lead monthly P&L reviews and ensure accurate Balance Sheet reconciliations to maintain financial integrity.
- Support the preparation of annual budgets and 5-year plans, contributing to strategic business planning.
- Assist with internal and external audits by preparing key financial documentation and ensuring compliance.
- Manage IFRS 16 reallocations and reporting, ensuring adherence to accounting standards.
- Oversee global intercompany reconciliations and recharges, resolving complex discrepancies.
- Collaborate with Sales, Cost Accounting and Operations teams to drive cost efficiency and accurate reporting.
- Authorise multi-currency payment runs and validate rebate calculations for new and existing customers.
- Monitor and manage packaging stock, investigating discrepancies and approving write-offs during site audits.
- Review and approve accruals, prepayments, and fixed asset journals to support month-end accuracy.
- Play an active role in the successful implementation of a new finance ERP system – MS Dynamics 365, enhancing reporting and workflow efficiency.
- Take on ad hoc financial tasks and projects as required.
Requirements
Experience we look for:
Essential
- ACCA/ACA/CIMA finalist or QBE with experience of working in a similar finance role for a commercial business.
- Strong working understanding of IFRS and other relevant finance regulations and legislation.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (Pivot tables, Xlookups etc)
- Good organisational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines whilst maintaining quality standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels and communicate important financial information to both finance savvy and non-financial audiences.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Desirable
- Experience in FMCG, food production, manufacturing or retail environments.
- Previous exposure to Microsoft Dynamics 365.
