We’re looking for a M&A Associate to join our Growth team at Westfalia Fruit. This role can be based remotely out of the UK or South Africa. However, please note that although this position can be remote, you must be within commuting distance from one of our offices in South Africa or the UK (preferably Johannesburg or Kings Hill).
The Mergers & Acquisitions Associate provides analytical, operational and project management support across the full M&A lifecycle, from initial opportunity assessment through to transaction execution and post deal tracking. The role plays a critical part in ensuring transactions progress effectively, combining financial analysis, due diligence coordination and high quality documentation with structured project management across multiple stakeholders.
In addition to transaction support, the role contributes to broader strategic activity, including the preparation of Board level materials, development of strategy papers and tracking execution against agreed strategic priorities. This is a delivery focused role requiring strong analytical capability, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple workstreams within a fast paced, high accountability environment.
Responsibilities Include:
- Support end-to-end M&A transaction execution, coordinating stakeholders, timelines, and key deliverables
- Prepare and manage investment committee and Board materials, ensuring high-quality, timely outputs
- Build and maintain financial models, delivering valuation, scenario analysis, and commercial insights
- Analyse financial, market, and competitor data to support investment decisions and strategy development
- Coordinate due diligence across functions, managing data rooms, information flow, and key findings
- Track risks, actions, and milestones, ensuring accurate reporting and escalation where required
- Assist in drafting transaction documentation (e.g. NDAs, term sheets) and maintaining version control
- Produce clear, structured presentations and maintain effective communication across internal and external stakeholders
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related discipline
- Prior experience within M&A, corporate finance, investment banking, consulting or a similar analytical environment
- Strong financial modelling and analytical capability
- Experience supporting end to end M&A transactions within a corporate or advisory environment
- Exposure to investment committee or Board approval processes
- Experience drafting Board level materials or strategy papers
- Experience working with financial data, business performance analysis and commercial evaluation
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines in a structured manner
- Strong attention to detail and high standards of accuracy
- Experience preparing presentations and materials for senior stakeholders
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong organisational and project management capability
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
