We’re looking for a Commercial Manager to join our team in Kings Hill, Kent on a permanent basis. As Commercial Manager you will be responsible for a key customer account with potential scope for others in our core business building strategic growth plans. The role will work closely with the wider customer team building a mutual growth plan and strategy for one of our largest customers. This role will play a key role in enhancing profitable sales across the account, adding value to the existing business through strategic improvements across the supply chain and customer management.

Responsibilities include:

  • Responsibility for a key customer account initially, working with the wider customer facing team to drive mutual growth.
  • Developing strategy, tactics, sales plans and profit targets in line with budgetary.
  • Working with the leadership and customer teams to build a long-term targeted account strategy. Full implementation and targeted results.
  • Developing key customer relationships at all levels (senior, buying and cross functionally) in line with new business strategy.
  • Building new buying relationships to support growth strategy and diversification.
  • Achieving targets for revenue, profitability and sales growth.
  • Provide direction and leadership to the business, representing your customer needs and requirements internally.

Essential:

  • Able to demonstrate commercial track record within the Fresh Produce Sector.
  • Able to demonstrate initiative, drive and enthusiasm.
  • Strong relationship management/building skills.
  • Data and fact driven to ensure sound decision-making interaction with colleagues & wider business.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Suite.
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales targets within a high-pressure environment.
  • Skilled negotiator with commercial and financial acumen.
  • Analytical and strategic thinker, capable of translating data and insights into actionable commercial strategies.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience within fresh produce or supply chain would be advantageous, but not essential.
  • Prior experience negotiating and closing contracts with national retailers.
