As an Engineer at Westfalia Fruit, you will play a critical role in keeping our Spalding facility running smoothly and efficiently. You will be responsible for implementing preventative maintenance programs, conducting regular inspections, and ensuring all equipment operates at peak performance while upholding the highest safety standards.

Day Shift: 8am - 5pm, Monday-Friday, covering 1 in 4 weekends on rota basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Working collaboratively to enhance preventative measures across our sites.
  • Under the guidance of Engineering Supervisors, adhere to rapid response protocols.
  • Contribute insights to maintenance trends for process improvements.
  • Support the Engineering Manager/Supervisors with new system implementations.
  • Participate in regular facility audits for safety and compliance.

  • Take reasonable care of your own health and safety.
  • Take reasonable care not to put other employees and members of the public at risk by actions during work.
  • Co-operate with your employer on training, following procedures, and wearing required PPE.
  • Not interfere with or misuse anything provided for own or others' health, safety, or welfare.
  • Report any injuries, strains, or illnesses suffered as a result of performing your role.
  • Inform employer immediately if something might affect ability to work, e.g., pregnancy or injury.
  • Ensure good housekeeping in work area and adhere to clean-as-you-go policy.

Requirements:

Essential Experience:

  • Previous exposure to a similar maintenance position (apprenticeship or entry level role).
  • Willingness to work the night shift as advertised.
  • Ability to drive and have access to own transportation.

Desirable Experience:

  • Qualifications within electrical, plumbing, mechanical or refrigeration would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work in an agile environment.
  • Attention to detail and high standards of finish to all work carried out.
  • Willingness to pick up new skills and training quickly and to a high standard.
  • Team player with good relationship building skills.
  • Dependable and self-motivated.
  • Efficient and pro-active in day-to-day work.
