This role exists to deliver on Western Union’s ‘ecosystem’ strategy in the Philippines. This ecosystem strategy centers around deploying additional financial services beyond remittances, thereby meeting more of our customers’ financial needs. The role will be part of the APAC Product Team and this successful candidate will be required to manage and own all aspects of the program including:
- Facilitating design and build of new non-remittance-based user experiences
- Defining business requirements
- Coordinating regulatory licensing and associated compliance programs
- Managing commercial relationships with suppliers
- Developing launch plans
- Internal management reporting
- Pricing and ongoing customer lifecycle management
This is a non-technical role with end-to-end accountability for each new service/products to be offered in the market. Initiating streams of work with internal legal, compliance and regulatory teams to get license applications with regulatory bodies where required to offer a product. Initiate building work with operational teams and oversee the design of processes and systems to service the customer base on these new products. Develop and finalize business requirements, direct internal resources to work on their areas accordingly and follow up on progress, keeping teams on track.
Work with marketing to design customer acquisition strategies: Define and document product requirements, features, and functionality. Draft business requirements and workflows, prioritize features, author Epics, user stories and acceptance criteria, and collaborate with the regional team to ensure product features are delivered according to specifications.
Role Requirements:
- Must have at least 5 years’ experience working with domestic and international payments.
- Experience can be gained through banks/financial services organisations, specialist payment companies, or at domestic or international schemes.
- The role will require sound process improvement, optimization, operations experience, card scheme, risk and compliance management in any of the areas of domestic payments, wallets, cards, micro-lending and/or foreign exchange.
- Experience building and launching consumer applications both on the web and mobile platforms including mobile and product management will be regarded well.
- Strong business writing, numerical analysis, and communication skills especially in dealing with different stakeholders globally.
- Experience developing basic wireframes and user journey flows will be a plus.
- Ability to work seamlessly with matrix teams, and juggle projects across multiple networks and platforms.
- Experience in FinTechs or financial services – transactional banking, payments, or remittances; working in a large corporate environment are a plus.
