We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Operational Improvement Business Partner at Perth Office CBD on a 18 month Maximum term basis.

About this role

As the Senior Operational Improvement Business Partner, you will be accountable for developing, driving and delivering continuous improvement aligned to strategic goals within Asset Operations with a strong focus on operational efficiency and future capability. This will be achieved through delivering significant projects to achieve tangible business benefits in line with Western Power’s strategic plan, while actively seeking out efficiency opportunities within the business and the application of multiple process / business improvement models and methodologies to fit the required purpose.

This position will provide subject matter expertise in supporting the building and maintaining of a framework that will provide Asset Operations customers with a consistent approach to operational improvement. This will include best practise coaching and mentoring within the area, to operations and where appropriate to the wider business. This position will also lead initiatives which aim to achieve tangible business benefits in line with Western Power’s strategic plan. Reporting to all levels of management required at each stage of progress. Including:

  • Accountable for the completion of significant business / process improvement projects to time, cost quality and strategic targets
  • To consistently achieve validated benefits in line with project objectives
  • Accountable for providing guidance to the business on Western Power operating model, while identifying potential efficiency opportunities
  • Developing and maintain end to end processes to deliver optimal Asset Operations customer outcomes
  • Assist in the design and delivery of an operational improvement framework, application and ongoing sustainability.
  • Developing and mentoring Operational Improvement Business Partners, Project Managers, Business Analysts and other business employees on improvement best practices
  • Developing and maintaining effective “value” relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Alignment of projects and initiatives with organisation wide change program

About you

We are seeking someone with experience and attributes that include:

  • Qualified in Lean Six Sigma / process improvement disciplines / methodologies or related business experience
  • Relevant tertiary qualification
  • 10 + years of business / process improvement experience
  • Extensive, broad and demonstrated experience in the application of the business / process improvement methodology with demonstrated outcomes
  • Strong Project Management experience and process improvement skills and techniques/methodologies
  • Proven experience in process / business improvement training, development and mentorship
  • Proven success in leading organisational and cultural change in a complex environment
  • Strong presentation skills with demonstrated ability to influence at all levels of management through clear, informed and logical discussions/presentations
  • The ability to ‘lead self’ by coordinating and balancing multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, and meeting deadlines.
  • Innovative and creative problem-solving skills used within a team and with Customers
  • Proven skills to drive performance targets to completion
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Interaction with others is primarily concerned with influencing, developing and motivating people and changing behaviour
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.)
