Supporting the State Government Decarbonisation Strategy, Western Power is enhancing its network to enable future connection of large-scale renewable generation and load. The Clean Energy Link – North program aims to increase network transfer capacity between Perth and northern regions. Community input is vital to shape our work. We are expanding our Community Engagement team and seeking experienced and passionate professionals to help future-proof our electricity network. Your customer-centric approach and social performance commitment will support key infrastructure projects.

What can you bring to Western Power?

  • Tertiary qualification in Communications, Social Planning and Sciences, Marketing, or related fields
  • Extensive experience in communication, community engagement, stakeholder management, or related areas
  • Expertise in delivering large infrastructure projects with best practice engagement strategies
  • Understanding of IAP2 spectrum
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills
  • Ability to prioritize and assess performance critically
  • Excellent listening skills with empathy

About the role:

  • Support strategic planning for engagement activities
  • Develop and implement community and stakeholder engagement strategies
  • Design and deliver engagement strategies, including digital content, face-to-face engagement, event management, and research-based insights
  • Manage relationships with local government and project partners
  • Engage rural communities, with regional travel as needed
  • Promote internal awareness of engagement approaches and social performance
  • Evaluate and report on engagement progress and issues
  • Enhance Western Power’s reputation and minimize project impacts
  • Build and maintain stakeholder relationships and advocate for community input
  • Understand legal and regulatory obligations related to engagement
  • Provide advice on contentious issues
