Corporate Surveillance Officer

We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Corporate Surveillance Officer on a permanent full-time basis to join our team. In this key role, you’ll be the primary point of contact for employees, contractors, law enforcement, and other stakeholders—playing an active role in the daily management of security operations, enterprise-wide surveillance, access control and incident management related events. As the Corporate Surveillance Officer, you will be responsible for providing real time security services across all of Western Power’s sites. This will include but is not restricted to monitoring Western Power facilities using onsite Security Management and Safety Systems such as integrated CCTV VMS, Access control systems, incident management and additional electronic surveillance systems to respond to various security and safety related incidents.

Your Role in Action:

• Responsible for monitoring the security and safety of Western Power facilities using onsite Security Management and Safety Systems and responding to various security related events.
• Managing intricate alarm and access control systems to ensure that security is maximised at all locations.
• The investigation and incident management of security / criminal offences that occur against Western Power assets.
• Efficient handling of general and specialised queries, dealing with such enquiries in an efficient manner and escalating where required.
• Maintaining intricate records and logging of events to ensure the integrity of all surveillance data.
• Responsible for generating detailed security and surveillance reports based on security incidents that have occurred within the network.
• Assisting with data analytics involving trend analysis and intelligence gathering to support senior security decisions.
• This role acts as the on duty senior security officer for all Western Power operations.
• Assisting the security officer team in all matters of physical and electronic security.
• Monitor and report on security and system issues and contribute to the improvements of the integrated systems.
• Be available to respond to security related incidents to any Western Power site as directed by the Security Management Team Leader.
• Ensuring you remain contemporary with security industry knowledge and be able to take and respond to fault calls where required.
• Follow defined business processes in administering customer queries.
• Provide a safe working environment and follow planned instructions in response to events and incidents.

What Makes You a Great Fit:

• Minimum five years demonstrated previous experience in a corporate surveillance role with security operations.
• Excellent comprehension and English skills with high level written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to respond to emergency situations with a calm and controlled demeanor.
• Experience using MS Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Practical skills to operate cameras and recording equipment with knowledge of access control and alarm systems.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of all information.
• High level observations skills and situational awareness with the ability to concentrate consistently across day or night shifts.
• Work within a 24/7 rotating roster that covers 365 days a year.
• Understanding of related legislation such as Security control Act, Criminal Code etc.
• Knowledge and experience in the Australian energy sector highly desirable.
• Certificate 2 in Security Operations.
• Senior First Aid Certificate.
• Construction White Card.
• Full WA Drivers licence.
• WA Certificate of Education or equivalent.
