As the Cable Jointer you will be required to construct and maintain in a team environment the underground transmission and/or distribution electricity network in a safe, reliable, and affordable manner which will ensure supply to customers. This role is based at our brand-new state-of-the-art South Metro Depot in Forrestdale, conveniently located next to Tonkin Highway.
Your Role in Action:
- Attending and rectifying faults in a timely manner will ensure minimal loss of supply and less disruption to the customer.
- Complete allocated construction and maintenance work to Western Power standards ensuring consistent quality across the network.
- Maintaining and enhancing core skills with changing industry standards and business requirements.
- Participating in pre-job planning to identify risks, hazards and task variables and control measures to ensure safe, reliable, and affordable job completion.
- Working in environmental elements to complete jobs subject to adequate safety and control measures being implemented.
- Good customer relations are upheld when working in the field especially where there is direct contact with the public.
What Makes You a Great Fit:
- Certificate III in ESI – Power System Distribution Cable Jointing or equivalent.
- Or – New Zealand Electricity Supply (Distribution) Minimum Level 4.
- Valid WA ‘C’ Class Drivers Licence (subject to business requirements).
- Demonstrated industry experience in the construction and maintenance of transmission and/or distribution electricity network.
