Our dedicated team works around the clock to ensure high standards of care – and we are now looking for a reliable and skilled Maintenance Person to help us maintain the quality and safety of our premises.
The Role: As our Maintenance Person, you will play a vital role in keeping the home in excellent condition and ensuring it remains safe and comfortable for our residents and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out general repairs and routine maintenance (e.g., plumbing, electrical, joinery, decorating)
- Complete regular safety and compliance checks, including fire alarm and emergency lighting, nurse call system etc
- Respond promptly to any maintenance requests or hazards reported by staff
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, checks, and maintenance tasks
- Liaise with external contractors where specialist work is needed
- Support with general upkeep of the building and grounds
Additional Responsibilities:
- Be available for on-call duties in case of emergencies
- Be willing and able to attend the site out of hours, including evenings and weekends, when required (this will be recompensed accordingly)
- Must have your own vehicle and be willing to use it for work purposes – mileage will be reimbursed
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience in a maintenance or caretaking role (care home experience beneficial but not essential)
- Practical skills across general maintenance tasks (basic plumbing, electrical, joinery, decorating)
- Experience in the building trade would be highly advantageous
- Strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and respond quickly to urgent situations
- Excellent time management and communication skills
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
- Relevant qualifications or training (e.g., PAT testing, health & safety, Legionella awareness)
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one)
