Notes: This Locum appointment is available immediately for 12 months in the first instance based in the Fracture Trauma service in the South Eastern Trust. The post will be based initially in the Ulster Hospital but may subsequently include duties in other hospitals in the Trust. The Orthophysician post is to assist with the medical management of pre- and post-operative patients within the fracture service. In particular the South Eastern Trust serves a population with an increasing number of elderly people who are at risk of fragility fractures, and who are likely to have significant medical comorbidities. As well as the management of inpatients the post may also involve outpatient facilities for the delivery of secondary preventative measures to patients with fragility fractures not requiring operative treatment. This is a full time post, however applications from practitioners who wish to contract for a reduced number of planned activities, or on a job share basis are welcome.
