Job Description
We are seeking a Site’s Supervisor to support the contracts team in managing, organising, and controlling all site operations across North Devon and surrounding areas.
You will oversee the daily operations of approximately 15 contracts simultaneously.
This is a field-based role.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-roof inspections to verify readiness, correct scaffolding, and availability of materials.
- Perform mid-roof inspections to ensure installation is in line with specifications.
- Complete roof sign-off’s after roof completion.
- Deliver toolbox talks to tradesmen twice monthly.
- Monitor materials on-site and report back to you Contracts Manager and buyer.
- Schedule roof-ready dates with site teams, the WCR Contracts Manager and WCR buyer.
- Coordinate new works with roofing tradesman and labourers.
- Report any design and detail changes to WCR management for review.
- Maintain regular communication with our in-house buying department and the WCR Contracts Manager to ensure proper scheduling to avoid delays.
- Manage the programme of works with WCR Contract Manager scheduling material delivery and labour allocation.
- Attend any weekly on-site subcontractor meetings.
- Participate in weekly meetings with the Contracts Manager at our Newton Abbot office to discuss progress and upcoming plans.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of pitched roofing required.
- Able to manage a team within the construction sector.
- Able to manage, organise and work in site conditions.
- A positive and proactive attitude.
- Valid driving license.
- At least 3 years of experience in construction.
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety regulations.
- Team player with excellent communication, and organisational skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Must reside within a commutable distance to North Devon.
- Company vehicle provided, subject to Revenue & Customs regulations.
- Full-time position.
- Holidays: 33 days including Bank Holidays.
- Pension: Auto Enrolment in Workplace Pension.
- Working Hours: 7:30 am – 5:00 pm (remote work is not available for this position).
- Salary: Starting from £40,000.00 per year, based on experience.
