Key responsibilities:
- Lead ward rounds on the Acute Medicine Unit (AMU) and provide direct patient care.
- Post admitting patients from the Emergency Department (ED) and the SDEC (ambulatory care) service.
- Supervise patients returning to SDEC ambulatory clinic and coordinate follow‑up appointments.
- Provide educational and clinical supervision for junior doctors, medical trainees and students.
- Participate in departmental meetings, case discussions and quality improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to the development of clinical processes that enhance patient outcomes and experience.
Qualifications & experience:
- Extensive experience in Acute Medicine, with a demonstrated record of academic and clinical excellence.
- Appreciation for working collaboratively with Emergency Medicine and other medical specialties.
- Demonstrated ability to support and mentor junior staff within a multidisciplinary team.
- Willingness to work a full‑time schedule of 10 sessions per week, with flexibility for less than full‑time arrangements.
- Available to undertake DBS checks; costs will be deducted from salary over the first three months.
