The School of Nursing (SON) invites applications for the position of Assistant/Associate Professor in its prelicensure track. This is a 9 month, tenure track position. Rank is commensurate with experience. The traditional BSN program is located in Cullowhee NC with courses delivered face to face with some hybrid courses. It is expected that the successful candidate will possess outstanding communication skills, evidence of sustained scholarly activity, teach and develop online and traditional courses, advise students, participate on committees, and other university activities.
Requirements: Masters degree in Nursing or BSN and masters in a related field is required; doctoral degree in nursing or a related field is preferred; eligibility for RN licensure in NC; two years teaching experience and two years prior experience in direct patient care as an RN. Applicants must also meet nurse educator requirements as outlined by the NC Board of Nursing. Anticipated start of August or September 2024.

Minimum Qualifications: The successful candidate must be a graduate from an accredited MSN program and an earned doctorate in nursing or related field is preferred. Eligibility for RN licensure in North Carolina is required. The candidate must also meet NC Board of Nursing requirements for nurse educators. In addition, the candidate will possess an understanding of baccalaureate nursing education and have a record of excellent teaching ability and scholarly development.
Preferred Qualifications: Doctoral degree in nursing or related field is preferred; degree must be from an appropriately accredited institution.
