Instructor will teach up to three sections of French language per semester. Appointments are on a course by course basis, subject to need. Course are classroom-based; no online sections.

WCU embraces its role as a regionally engaged university and is designated by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching as a community engaged university. Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate a commitment to public engagement through their teaching, service, and scholarship.

Candidates must be able to work with a comprehensive LMS (Canvas), as well as with major publishers\’ online course management systems. Preference given to those who are familiar with and have materials for a current college-level French textbook.

Minimum qualifications for teaching in the academic programs are a master\’s degree in the teaching field (French Language or Literature), or a master\’s degree in a closely related field with at least 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching field (ie. courses with FREN (or similar) prefixes.

Experience teaching young adults from a current college-level textbook.
