Western Brand is one of the largest producers of chicken in Ireland and the UK, its commitment to quality and excellence has grown the business to be at the forefront of poultry technology with Red Tractor, BRC and Bord Bia approved facilities. Our poultry processing facility in Lisnaskea, Co. Fermanagh is hiring a Financial Controller to join our well-established Finance Team. Reporting to the General Manager, the right candidate will be responsible for the Finance Department. A fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to drive and implement real change within a fast-growing business.
The Role
- Produce financial statements including cash flows, P&L accounts and variance analysis
- Completion of all month and year end duties for company site
- Formulating and delivering business strategy
- Reviewing price files and ensure accurate product costing
- Oversee monthly reporting for site and communicate to relevant stakeholders
- Compliance with all financial regulations
- Ensuring all VAT/PAYE/Corporation Tax deadlines/payments are met
- Reporting monthly customs intrastat schedules
- Dealing with Government Grant Agencies to avail of assistance in all elements of the business
- Produce Government statistical information on a timely basis
- Ensure annual planning and budgeting process is delivered on time and matched to delivery of strategic objective
- Giving a strong financial perspective to key decisions throughout the business
- Cash flow analysis
- Processing and management of payroll function
- Managing and future proofing the IT function
- Managing the Company’s Liability and Property Insurances
- Dealing with all Legal issues
- Other relevant duties
Essential Criteria
- An ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualification
- Excellent attention to detail
- At least 3 years experience working in a senior finance role preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to manage and prioritise workload
- Highly motivated with a positive attitude towards work
- Highest levels of ethics and integrity
- Ability to identify and implement business improvement opportunities
