Payroll Administrator

Full‑time hours

Hybrid working: 2‑3 days in office, remaining remote

Salary: £28,000 – £33,000 per annum + company performance bonus + benefits

About the Role

You will support the Payroll Manager in delivering an efficient payroll service for nine payroll companies, ensuring accurate and timely monthly payment of employees and comprehensive reporting for the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • End‑to‑end payroll processing across nine payroll companies, including:
  • Time & attendance system checks and administration.
  • Processing all new starters, leavers, absences, statutory leave and pay.
  • HMRC reporting.
  • Pension administration.
  • Variance reporting on finalised payroll.
  • Providing advice and guidance to employees and managers.
  • Monitoring the payroll mailbox, resolving queries and escalating when necessary.
  • Liaising with HR on payroll queries.
  • Assisting the Payroll Manager with:
    • Month‑end processing and reporting.
    • P11D reporting and submission.
    • PSA reporting and submission.
    • Year‑end reporting and submission.
    • Ad‑hoc projects and analysis.

About You

  • Experienced Payroll Administrator or similar role.
  • Good technical knowledge of payroll and payroll systems.
  • Cascade Payroll System or multi‑payroll experience desirable.
  • Computer literate with excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
  • Self‑starter with a can‑do and flexible attitude.
  • Excellent accuracy, attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
  • Team player with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good time‑management and organisational skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with a proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Knowledge of statutory and legislative regulations.
