Based: Andover, with occasional travel to our Plymouth site
Responsible for supervising the day-to-day running of our warehouse and delivery operations, from receiving and storing stock through to picking, packing and despatch. Our Warehouse & Logistics Supervisor leads a team of Customer Service Delivery Drivers and Fitters and works closely with project managers and other roles in our business to ensure excellent service. The aim is to fulfil every order accurately and on time while keeping the warehouse safe, efficient and well organised.
The successful applicant will have experience as a warehouse supervisor or team leader, a good understanding of inventory management and warehouse management systems and working knowledge of warehouse safety and transport compliance.
The role will suit someone who is hands-on, highly organised and calm under pressure. They should also be a natural problem-solver who enjoys leading and developing a team.
The role includes:
- Supervising daily warehouse operations, including goods in, storage, picking, packing and despatch.
- Leading, training and developing the operations and logistics team, including inductions, holiday cover, absence and appraisals.
- Planning drivers' routes, managing the delivery orders inbox and coordinating client site deliveries with our project managers and sales teams.
- Maintaining accurate stock levels and records, and reporting on KPIs such as order accuracy and on-time delivery.
- Keeping vehicles, forklifts and racking safe and compliant, including vehicle checks, LOLER examinations, racking inspections and drivers' hours.
- Identifying improvements to warehouse and delivery processes and helping to control operating costs.
A full driving licence is essential, and a counterbalance forklift licence is required (or a willingness to obtain one). An IOSH or Level 3 transport and warehouse operations supervisor qualification would be an advantage. The role is active and involves lifting.
Reports to: Operations Manager (based at Plymouth site)
Working pattern: Mon – Fri, 60 min lunch break. TBC
