Support Worker required to work with a 60-year-old gentleman living on his own in the Sherbourne area. The client was involved in a road traffic accident in 2014 which resulted in an acquired brain injury. He continues to experience cognitive difficulties – notably challenges with initiation, information processing, organisation and memory – and requires 1:1 support to live safely at home.
The role largely involves delivering domestic support, assisting to attend hydrotherapy and social & leisure outings, and enabling him to be as independent as possible. The client has a keen interest in music and antiques restoration and runs a small antiques sales unit in Bridport, so support to attend this venue and work on restorations is often required. He also has two pet whippets which are friendly and require caring for during the day.
