The predicted salary is between 12 - 18 £ per hour.

Shifts consist of 9 hours sleep in night rates (at the national living wage) and 3 hours of active duty, a total of 12 hours at the applicable hourly rate. Monday – Sunday 9.30 pm - 09.30 am.

Pay Rates

  • £16.00 per hour weekday day & waking night rate
  • £18.00 per hour weekend day & waking night rate
  • £12.21 per hour current national living wage for sleep in shifts

Role Description

Required to work with a delightful young girl aged 14 years with cerebral palsy, in Aberdare. Based at the client’s home, the role will involve supporting night staff with care at night and personal care in the evening and mornings. This is an amazing opportunity to develop a skill set. Previous support staff have gone on to gain a nursing qualification.

The Client likes spending time with family, watching TV, playing with her noisy toys, going to school, youth club and Sunday school. She loves going on days out with the family, going on rides and enjoys horse-riding, swimming, colouring, drawing and playing board games.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Registration with Social Care Wales is desired. If not registered, you will be expected to do so within the first 6 months.
  • A recognised Health and Social Care qualification (QCF Level 2 or above) is desirable.
  • Some experience of caring for children with learning, physical and communication difficulties is desirable but not essential as full training will be given.
  • A Full driving licence is desirable – The Client has their own vehicle which you would drive; it is not essential to have a licence as shifts are worked on a 2:1 basis.
  • Competent IT skills are desirable.

Hours & Availability

Full time, part time and bank hours available to cover the following: Up to 144 hours over a 4-week period on a flexible basis. Positions include day/waking nights and/or sleep in night shifts.

Recruitment & DBS

This position requires a fully enhanced disclosure request from the DBS. You will also be required to register with the DBS Update Service.
