Azure Specialist – Partner & Host Outreach
Azure Specialists need a high level of drive to hunt for new business/customers in the indirect business with partners. A successful hunter must be results oriented, driven and excel in a dynamic sales environment. The seller must pitch and understand the Azure ecosystem and value proposition to Partners and their customers to enable sales to new customers.
Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities
- Define and work with a selection of new and current Azure partners for FY25 willing to grow their number of Azure customers.
- Select partners developing their practice with 3‑5 customers.
- Target partners/hosters with SPLA business (via DCO program).
- Recruit partners building Azure practice (MW/Biz Apps partners with 1 customer add).
- Build and follow up on a plan with each partner to achieve monthly Customer Add targets across resellers and usage of Microsoft programs (AMM, DCO, Migration factory).
- Implement a Rhythm of Business with selected partners and local Microsoft stakeholders to check progress, provide feedback and correct action if required.
- Assist partners with compelling offers addressing top customer scenarios; mobilize partners to consume Microsoft resources (Coop funds, Cloud Ascent target data, DMC tool) and participate in Microsoft programs (SMB customer workshops, DMC content).
- Utilize Microsoft targeting tools like Cloud Ascent and programs to drive new customer conversations and identify on‑prem to Cloud migration opportunities.
- Drive Partner outreach through all available media.
- Mandatory attendance of Microsoft‑driven SureStep events like SureStep Summits and Bootcamps.
- Active participation within the SureStep Community to share best‑practice.
Required Skills & Experience
- +1 year of work experience in a sales/marketing role in IT.
- Experience working at a Partner/Hoster/Telco/Service Provider or competing technology vendor preferred.
- Basic understanding of Azure and the Microsoft partner ecosystem.
- Advanced user of Office suite preferred.
- Familiarity with Azure and/or Dynamics products and SKUs preferred.
- Complete Azure Fundamentals (AZ900) within 2 months of hire. Further Azure certification recommended.
- Min 2 years in IT sales, marketing or business development.
