Job Goal: Under the direction of the Program Coordinator, provides care for children ages 5 to 12 for Before and after school, professional development days and during the Winter, Spring and Summer breaks. The Senior Before & After School Childcare Worker provides work direction, leadership and guidance to the Before & After School Childcare Workers. Performance Responsibilities: 1.Under the direction of the Program Coordinator, provides appropriate supervision of children both within the facility and outdoors. 2.Builds and maintains respectful relationships with children. Appropriately redirects and guides children\’s behavior. 3.Assists the Program Coordinator in developing daily program schedules that include developmentally appropriate indoor/outdoor, active/quiet and individual/group activities. 4.Provides work direction to Before & After School Care Workers, as required. i.e.: Designate worker to write daily log notes, designate worker to clean-up etc. 5.Documents behavior and interactions of children when necessary, and reports concerns to the Program Coordinator. 6.Provides recommendations for change to the Program Coordinator 7.Ensures a healthy and safe environment in which the children can interact. Observes and removes potential hazards. 8.Assists children with reminders of cleanliness/hygiene. 9.Establishes and maintains open lines of communications with staff & families through instant messaging/text messaging/calling using the designated daycare phone. 10.Delegates who will be on phone duty, when appropriate. 11.Ensures daycare phone is properly charged and working at all times. 12.Daily set up and take down of facility equipment. 13.Ensures and documents weekly deep cleaning of toys/supplies that belong to the daycare. 14.Snack preparation and cleaning duties. 15.Responsible for daycare petty cash and working within the set budget.
